Jami composed during the Timurid Renaissance in Herat, one of the most culturally vibrant courts in the 15th-century Islamic world. This period saw extraordinary patronage of Persian poetry, miniature painting, and architecture under rulers who saw themselves as heirs to both Timur and the Persian literary tradition.

Persian Sufi poet and scholar born in 1414 in Jam, in present-day Afghanistan, considered the last great classical poet of the Persian tradition. His works, including the Haft Awrang (Seven Thrones), blend Sufi mysticism with lyric beauty and philosophical depth.
