Bengali poet, musician, and revolutionary, born in Burdwan in 1899 and celebrated as the National Poet of Bangladesh. His poem 'Bidrohi' ('The Rebel') became one of the most celebrated poems in Bengali, and his work challenged colonialism, communalism, and caste oppression with fierce lyricism.
