First President of Indonesia, who led the country's independence proclamation in 1945 and served until 1967. He was a founding architect of the Non-Aligned Movement and hosted the 1955 Bandung Conference, which brought together leaders of newly independent Asian and African nations. His political philosophy blended nationalism, Islam, and Marxism.
