This is a declaration of identity and refusal, made by a woman who refused to accept the terms others set for her. It is not arrogance — it is a refusal to internalise a diminished identity. To name yourself a queen in a moment when others intend to make you less is a radical act.
Quote by Njinga Mbande: “I shall not be a slave. I am a queen.”
I shall not be a slave. I am a queen.
